CSR (Medical)ACTIVITIES  at Subsidiaries.

stetho1Mining activity involves lot of land acquisition and also disturbs the environmental balance. Therefore, it is responsibility of the company to take care of project affected population. This can be achieved by opening CSR Dispensaries and providing health care through Mobile Medical Van in the remote places.

CSR (Medical) activities are in full swing in all the subsidiaries. The doctors are extending medical facilities to the remote areas of villages through Mobile Medical Vans. Such Mobile Medical Vans or “Dispensary on Wheels” carry doctors, paramedicals and are fully equipped with medicines and other necessary items.

Already 15 MMV are working in the different Subsidiaries & 45 more will start functioning shortly.

CSR dispensaries have been initiated at different areas of the Subsidiaries to cater the population living in and around the collieries. 29 CSR dispensaries are functioning in different Subsidiaries and serve all people of the locality. 52 more CSR clinics will be started shortly.

Coal India appreciates the idea of extending medical facility to the community as a whole, including the people who are not its employees. A medical professional in Coal India has never discriminated between an employee and a non employee, so far as the person is a patient seeking help from the Doctor. Hence ‘CSR’ work is part and parcel of daily routine of a Doctor serving at Coal India.

CSR(medical) activities, in Coal India  and its Subsidiaries, are progressing with full enthusiasm of doctors and paramedicals.

For sustainable medical services to the society, Coal India wishes to move on with this noble idea of CSR
